Turnitin
This assignment will be scanned using Turnitin software. Turnitin is an online service that highlights matching text in written work. It indexes Internet sources, databases of subscription services, and written work submitted through its website. Assignments sent through Turnitin are scanned against all of its sources, and a report is generated that summarizes and highlights matching text and where it was found. It is up to instructors and students to interpret the report to determine if plagiarism occurred.
You may submit your assignment to Turnitin before its due date to assess your work against Turnitin’s database. You may use the Originality Report’s results to address any originality concerns in your work and then resubmit your assignments one additional time for grading. You may resubmit only until the assignment due date. Any work that has been submitted at the time the assignment is due will be considered your final submission, and this will be the submission used for grading.
Hi, students. This is Professor Smith. Welcome to DNP Practice Seminar– Proposal part 1. Our
objectives are to describe the components of your DNP scholarly project proposal part 1.
I just want you to keep in mind that the writing of your proposal is a process. It will continually
evolve and change with the development and as your faculty reviews it, and gives you feedback and
guidance. The proposal will just develop and change as you go along.
I just want to emphasize that you should utilize your resources that are provided in Sakai. So the
textbook readings for the week will help support what you need to know to help write your proposal,
especially the Moran textbook. Have your DNP essentials document handy. As always, have your
APA manual open. And your whole proposal and your whole final paper will need to adhere to APA
standards.
You’ll find on the academic resources in Sakai, it’s on the left-hand navigation bar, there’s sources for
the Writing Center and the library. The Writing Center can help you with your writing skills in
conjunction with your faculty. And then the library also has– we have a health science librarian that
can help you find literature related to your project. So if you have any difficulty finding specific
articles for your synthesis of evidence, you can contact our librarian, and that is in the academic
resources tab on the left-hand navigation bar in Sakai.
So what does proposal part 1 compose of? So if you look at your guidelines, you’ll have guidelines
and you’ll also have a rubric for your proposal. Your guidelines are kind of a tool to help– is more
detailed in how to write each component of your proposal. So you’ll see for 625 you will write the
introduction to your proposal.
So you’ll write the introduction to the problem, background and significance, your needs assessment,
your problem statement, your project aim or purpose, your PCOT, your congruence with the
organizational strategic plan, your synthesis of evidence, and the conceptual or theoretical framework
that you’re going to be using for your project.
So all these components that I just listed off, and are also outlined in Sakai, are what you will be
focusing on for Nursing 625. And you’ll see in the left-hand column 625. So that’s the course in which
you will write all these components. If you scroll down, you’ll see the methods. That’s when you’ll
start, in 725, writing those sections. So for 625 just concentrate on the introduction chapter.
You will also see there’s more detailed guidelines on how to write each component. You don’t have to
take everything into account, but it does help to give an idea of how to write that component. I also
recommend using your Moran and Harris textbooks, and those page numbers are provided in Sakai on
more details on how to develop each component of your introduction.
You’ll also find there is a project paper rubric in your syllabus, and then there’s also a link within
Sakai. So this is how your proposal will be evaluated. Total of 100 points for your final proposal,
which is due in week 12. So you’ll see here how faculty is actually going to evaluate your final
submission. So make sure that you have the rubric, as well as the guidelines handy as you’re writing
your proposal. And your APA manual and your Moran Harris textbooks certainly would be helpful
resources as you write your proposal.
If you have any questions about how to develop each component, make sure to contact your faculty.
It’s better to, you know, communicate early and often. And if you have any questions at all, we’re here
to help.
I’d just like to make a comment on the evidence evaluation table. When you submit your draft in week
9, in that week 6 to 9 assignment, make sure you have a minimum of 10 articles in your evidence
evaluation table. Your evidence evaluation table can be submitted as a separate document from your
proposal. And then in week 12, when you submit your final evidence evaluation table, once again, it
should have a minimum of 10 articles. And that also can be a separate document.
If you have any questions about the requirements for your proposal or how to write specific
components of it, make sure to contact your section instructor.
